Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is defined as taking an object that is real and using technology to insert another object onto it, making it visible only on a screen. The view of what is actually seen in modified. It's allowing something to be better understood by making it clearer. ie. A sports fanatic would be familiar with AR when viewing the yellow first down line on a football field. This line is an overly that is seen only on the television or screen. However, AR when used in the classroom takes learning from simple to exciting. Learning becomes multi-dimensional in that what they are looking at or creating is clearer, brought to life, or immediately visible. .

All five apps received a rating of 3 or higher. Each app is free with some in app purchases to upgrade. Each one of the apps takes learning to a higher level. The student is able to bring the activity to life making learning more fun. However, the app that I think is the best one for me would be the AR Flashcards. This app is geared more to younger children. A parent or teacher would need to print off the flashcards in color. and the device needs to have a camera. When point to the flashcard, an animal appears. This app assist preschoolers and toddlers in learning their letters and assist with labeling objects.
